The club is here for our members to enjoy their hobby with like minded people with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment in a friendly and safe environment. To maintain this we do have rules that our members abide by.
The Rules at the Club are kept fairly minimal, but are there primarily for the safety of all persons and property, and to ensure that noise is maintained at or below the maximum recommended by the Department of the Environment. We fly seven days a week (weather permitting!) during designated flying times. These times are strictly observed to minimize the possibility of any disturbance to residents in local villages as we are anxious to retain our site!

The club is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (BMFA 397) and all members are obliged to be associates. Members must hold full insurance through this organization and the Membership Secretary is happy to arrange cover on their behalf.
Novices are required to obtain a minimum of the BMFA ‘A’ Certificate before they can fly "solo" but the club has a number of registered examiners who can help with the test. The club also has several registered instructors who are "on hand" to train you and help you attain "A certificate" status.
The club membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December and our constitution limits senior membership to 80.
Each new year, existing members are given the opportunity to renew prior to consideration of any prospective new members. Some of course retire from the club and so we always have vacancies at the beginning of each year. These are invariably taken up as we move into Summer!
The club welcomes new members whether they are experienced pilots or novices and juniors (under 18) are particularly encouraged because, without their interest, the sport does not have a future.
Anyone interested in joining should complete an Application Form and return this to the Membership Secretary (without payment) who will subsequently invite them to the next meeting of the Committee. This is an opportunity for prospective members to meet the committee members, talk about their interest, and find out all about the club and the flying sites.
